The Purpose
One-on-ones are NOT status updates. They are the employee's meeting, not yours. The goal is to:
- Build trust and psychological safety
- Surface problems before they become crises
- Align on career growth and expectations
- Provide and receive feedback
The Structure
Weekly, 30 minutes, never cancel
Canceling 1:1s sends the message "you're not important." Reschedule if needed, but never cancel.
